I just popped in my xp pro cd and did an "upgrade" now it works! I think I need to install sp1 and uxtheme hack for my eye candy. :D
+ I had the satisfaction of calling ATT and canceling! lol!

well yes, but instead of reformatting, I chose "upgrade"
.........and they were supposed to make at least 45.00 for minimum install - but now I got it for free! lololl

upgrade is the same as repair install on xp boot

this installs xp and keeps all program dll's intact

so it seems some files were corrupt omyour installation
