Several times when I manually update AVG, I get advertising to buy AVG 8. I do not see anyplace to turn OFF this advertising, is there a way ??

got me but post it when you get an answer cause thats been bugging me too. ;)
I use AVG. I don't see anything wrong with them trying to sell the paid version. Be thankful that there are free products available.
