I have a stupidly designed keyboard that has a sleep button in a very weird place. I have inadvertently hit it quite a few times times now and cause a LOT of anger and frustration. Is there any way to disable or change the key assignments for the keyboard? Thanks in advance.

Sometimes the keyboard maker themselves offer software or a driver that allows you to remap special keys... I know gateway and emachines both had/have software that does this.
Any idea what brand your keyboard is? Or the PC even?
Pull the Sleep key off the keyboard :)

As already mentioned not running the software that drives the additional keys at startup would also be a good solution if you don't use any of the other additional keys.
If the sleep button is driven by the operating system you can disable the service that allows such additional keys to function. The link below provides information about the service.
