Would doing a system restore back to about April 20, undo the changes made by KB905474 ?
KB905474 was released on January 26, 2006, I guess there's one way to find out..

As rik said, you can uninstall individual updates via Add/Remove.
In Add/Remove Programs make sure the "Show updates" box is checked otherwise the Windows updates you have installed will not appear in the list.
That surprises me. I thought that update KB905474 was one of those updates that could not be removed. I can't tell on my computer, since I never downloaded that update. I am loooking for info. for a friend. I did check my updates however. Most of them can be removed. However I do have three that can not be removed. A security update KB890046, An update for Windows Media Player 10 KB911565, and a Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool. This last one does not have a KB number, but all three say they can not be removed. If that KB905474 can be easily removed, why is it giving so many people problems like crashing etc. ?
