What exactly does this mean?
I've got to be honest, as i'm not a skype user i'm not totally sure what function it provides. I'll find out more from vb.
A bit more info from one of the guys over at vb.
Click the little skype icon under your,or another skype users avatar to see it work.Quote:
Basically what this does is add a link to the skype icon within the postbit, when the icon is clicked a box pops up letting you know whether the user is online or not. Within that box, you also have the option to text message them on skype or leave them a VM.
Oh cool. Thanks.
Some more info:
You must update to the latest Skype version which includes the new feature of "Web status" 2.0.0.79
when you have installed the latest version edit your Skype profile and check the box "allow users to view your status on the web"
Does this work in Linux?
I am running SKype on both Ubuntu 5.10 and OpenSuse 10. It seems the latest version I am showing for those is 1.2.0.18, so I assume it doesn't.
Well now it appears that it is working...

Just wondering why the icon has now changed to text?

BTW @BB. Obviously I left my Skype open today in an "Away" state, so it does appear to work with the Linux versions.
I think it might be a problem with the skype online status server rather than a vb problem. But I'll check it out.Quote:

Can confirm its a Skype server problem. The status may not be displayed during this time.
Cool. Thanks.
