Microsoft quietly has released the latest service pack 1 for Office 2003 suite. Going to the office update site.

Unfortunately at the time of this posting the automatic update is not working. I will keep trying later on.

It's painfully slow and you'll need the CD. And it finishes with a request to reboot your system.

Office 2003 Service Pack 1 contains significant security enhancements, in addition to stability and performance improvements. Service Pack 1 (SP1) also includes many performance and feature enhancements to Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003.
Some of the fixes included with SP1 have been previously released as separate updates. This service pack combines them into one update.

I just installed SP1 for 2003, yes, its very slow and I have to download the patches seperatly for OneNote, Visio and Project. But its worth the while as InfoPath and OneNote obviously becomes more useful with the added features of more tools and functions. Though Word, Excel, Powerpoint remains generally unchanged. My auto update worked fine. No CD required but I did need to reboot.
