k i have windows media player 9. i used to have mini mode but now its.. gone. i click on my toolbars and windows media player isnt ther. when i minimze wmp a little box comes up telling me i can activate minimode but gosh darn its not ther! i went on microsoft and other links.even went on yahoo to see if icould download it er sumthin. thats how i came here. anyone help me.please...

Whats the OS e.g. XP ?
Are the skin files in the '<WMP>\Skins' folder and do you have access rights?
Download Registry Monitor from www.sysinternals.com

Re-download and install WMP 9 and that should fix it.

k i uninstalled windows media player but there were these two things called media player hotfix and viewpoint media player . shoudl i have tooken those out too cuz i still dont have the mini bar. and i have xp. what is windows media player 9 hotfix?

I would suggest to get rid of wmp9, ie forget about it, and install quintessential player ->see my sig . Take a couple of days to get accustomed with the new mediaplayer and you wont regret it

What Quintessential Player is one of if not the best players I also like Winamp 291.

I haven't used WMP in at least 2 years.

.. lol i'm still wonderin bout my problem. i dont know how to get minimode. the whole right-clicking on empty space and going to toolbars and etc. aint workin fer me. i just reinstalled it..again

Is there a blank space on your toolbar that looks like the WMP in mini mode would fit in? When you right click on your taskbar and select toolbars, do you see the media player option? What is it not doing exactly?

I got mine to work last night after about an hour of messing with it.
What I did was to uninstall both HOTFIX's and then I went to Microsoft downloads and redownloaded the entire thing again and reinstalled it. this worked, DO NOOT USE THE WINDOWS UPDATE VERSION of WMP9 it doesn't work this was from the microsoft downloads site itself.

so i shuld take EVRY thing off? my hot fix and media player viewpoint? when i click on the empty space and then tool bars media player isnt there at all.
