    > photohop and IE conspiracy, adobe and MS in cahoots!

Hello, I have a problem. First of all my system is not recognizing IE

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2
Scan saved at 12:15:50 PM, on 10/3/2004
Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)
MSIE: Unable to get Internet Explorer version!
Photoshop elements will not open nor reinstall because:

I have photoshop 7 working but there seems to be no PNG support (help file not working as well):

Does anyone know a solution to any of the above? I did not have the problem until recently - I think has to do with reg cleaner - Thanks.

I know this sounds a little obvious, but in Photoshop, have you checked the mode (Image/mode) you are in ?

CMYK and LAB don't support PNG.

If you have IE set as your default browser (which I find hard to believe considering your relationship with FF) this would explain the Photoshop help file not be able to work, as it needs a browser to function.
The help file is just looking for the same browser thats not working.

Looks to me like the quickest solution is to re-install IE.

So then I try to reinstall IE

Eventually I end up going the n0ob route and use system restore. Well, Photoshop Elements is back (I prefer it over Photoshop - no png support as well) but now I lost PNG support and I still can't reinstall it because the system still cannot see IE.

when your image is loaded in photoshop check that you are in the correct mode to save your files

    goto image/mode

choose rgb to save as ping ,

CMYK and LAB do not support PNG as z3n has stated and let us know if you are alredy in rgb and you still have this problem

Egghead, I can't even get a png image into photoshop. They are not even visible. If new image, it's already set at RGB and still no PNG save listed.

BTW, you are the only one I see posted on this thread. I am using board options.
