Well I'm happy with the 250. Best thing Microsoft has done in a long time. I've even started running Hotmail through Outlook since I am starting to accumulate my emails as opposed to going through and deleting old ones daily. Outlook just helps me manage them and find the emails I need more quickly.

I think it's very unfair that -unlike Yahoo! mail- the junk we get in Hotmail counts toward our mailbox storage quota.

I don't know if it has been the same for you, but since Hotmail upgraded the mail interface I have been receiving MUCH less junk mail. Now I only get 9-10 SPAM emails go to the Junk mail folder and about 1-2 slip through to my Inbox (per week).

Here is a trick that works

You can use the following Trick:

Important: When trying to increase your limit, you may be loosing all emails stored in your hotmail inbox, so please follow the instructions below prior to go into the increasing procedure.

All your emails in the mail box may be deleted as the new account settings will REFRESH your inbox. Please backup your emails before proceding.
One method for backing up is, first of all make an extra folder in your mail box, and move your emails from your inbox to that newly created folder.
However there is no need to backup your addressbook or msn messenger contacts, they will remain unchanged.

    GOOD LUCK.

To increase Hotmail Account Limit to 250mb
    Follow these steps..!!

Login ur hotmail account and go to options.
    Go to "Personal"
    Click "My Profile"
    Change Country to "United States"
Wait for browser to load United states settings.
Change the state to "Florida" and zip code "33332"
    Click "update"
    Click "Continue"
Go to "Language" and make sure its "English"
Paste the following link in the same browser and hit go.

    http://by17fd.bay17.hotmail.msn.com/...n/Accountclose

Wait until the Screen says you're Hotmail is Closed and scheduled to be deleted.
    Click "Close Account".
Go back to login page and relogin to ur hotmail account..!!

Your account size will now increase to 25 MB which a month later becomes 250 mb.
    Good Luck..!!

PS.It worked, however i guess the Florida thing is simply a diversion because new hotmail accounts are given 250 by default now. So the trick is to actually "de-activate and re-activate the account" only !

Dont worry i have tried it and it worked before sending to you.

Well if you're getting less junk , SupaStar, that's good news, but I still don't understand why the filtered spam (which is sometimes as big as 300KB) is considered a part of my 2MB storage space. But that shouldn't be a problem after I get the 250MB

Welcome to TZ, Silver-Fox We're very happy to have you here with us.
Most of us have Gmail accounts as well, but probably don't want to change the addresses due to the trouble involved I guess.

Gmail seems to be the way to go. Especially with the ability to use your Gmail account as an online file storage system.. Hotmail has perks. I use it and it works flawlessly with Outlook. If I had 250Mb of storage I'd be happier. Maybe they might upgrade freely in the future for all??

I'm sure it's in the works.
