You could try installing the mx card again. That might set it as primary.
As for the jumpers and so on, I ｄｕｎｎｏ. I've never seen it, but then I haven't seen a lot of things. So it is worth looking into.
Check your BIOS for a setting like that and your motherboard manual might also help.
