Contiguous Files

Just what % if any of contiguous files is "normal"?(sorry did'nt know where to post this}

uschie if you run defrag like once or twice a week you should be fine...what is acceptable got me guess depends on the size of the drive and how much free space you have.but I have diskeeper and have it set to run everyday at 4am

I think i just don't understand the diff. between frag.files and cont.files,it's a 40gb hd,87%free,but about 70% of it is cont.files. I don't know if what i'm saying makes sence.

well let me explain it when you start adding and del files your drive will get fragmented...wait let me explain it differently ...say you have glasses of water...and you start emptying some glasses(del files) and start filling some other glasses(adding files)well now you have a bunch of glasses some empty some full some half full...well when you defrag you take all the half full glasses and fill the other half full glasses so now you have all full glasses in the front and all empty glassses in the rear(contig. drive) hope that helps
