    Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 Release Candidate

    Install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Release Candidate (RC) to help secure your server and to better defend against hackers. Windows Server 2003 SP1 RC enhances security infrastructure by providing new security tools such as Security Configuration Wizard, which helps secure your server for role-based operations, improves defense-in-depth with Data Execution Protection, and provides a safe and secure first-boot scenario with Post-setup Security Update Wizard. Windows Server 2003 SP1 RC assists IT professionals in securing their server infrastructure and provides enhanced manageability and control for Windows Server 2003 users.

    Note: This version of the Service Pack 1 Release Candidate only installs on the 32-bit versions of the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating systems.

    sweet... thanks for the link.

    question tho.. what exactly does RC mean? i know it stands for Release Candidate, as you said, Rev... but what does that mean?

    and fyi Rev, your link to the overview is not correct.

    Release candidate generally means it will be the same as the "final" version,unless any bugs,etc are found in it.

    If any are found it moves into the next RC stage from RC1 to RC2 etc, until it is considered stable enough to make it final.

    Software companies use different timescales to test an RC before they consider it stable.

    This SPack will be good, hopefully it will fix the little niggling annoyances of 2003. Looks like a lot of XP SP2 features too, hopefully it doesnt cause too much of a problem, but at 380mb seems a little big.

    Final should be released soon then...
