    Angry windowsxp compatibility

We have been trying to install and use PhotoMax on windowsxp. We would like to download pictures from our polaroid PDC 1300. The advice we have been given so far involves using something called compatibility wizard, but we can't find it. Is there any place we can download it?

    Welcome to Techzonez Jack.
I don't know if you have tried the following procedure below, but this is from the Polaroid support site.
If you still have problems, let us know and we'll find another solution.

Follow the instructions below to reinstall the PhotoMAX software and camera drivers using Windows XP's Program Compatibility Wizard.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT: Do not insert the PhotoMAX CD into the CD drive until you get to Step 3 of this procedure.

Start the Wizard by clicking the Start button and choosing All Programs > Accessories > Program Compatibility Wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Select I want to use the program in the CD-ROM Drive.

Insert the PhotoMAX software CD-ROM into the CD drive.

    Click Next.

Select Microsoft Windows 98/Windows Me and click Next.

    Uncheck the following items:

    256 colors
    640 X 480 Screen Resolution
    Disable Visual Themes

Follow the on-screen prompts. The PhotoMAX software will begin installing.

Follow on-screen prompts to finish the installation.

Close the Compatibility Wizard when the software installation is complete.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    NOTES
Limited testing of the Program Compatibility Wizard has shown that the PhotoMAX application is functional within Windows XP -- however, some special PhotoMAX features (Screensaver, Sticker Store Deluxe) may not work properly.

If PhotoMAX will not run after using the Program Compatibility Wizard, there may be a conflict with the computer's hardware system. Polaroid's Digital Camera Serial Troubleshooting Guide and Digital Camera USB Troubleshooting Guide offer complete overviews of serial port and USB conflicts and give detailed instructions for diagnosing and correcting these errors.

Thanks for the quick reply. We have tried to follow the steps listed. Our problem seems to be with step 1. When we click on program compatibility wizard we get the message "can not display the page." This makes it rather difficult to go to step 2.

Are you using the compatibility wizard when connected to the internet?
If you are, disconnect and try running it now.

A little info on the program compatibility wizard:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q301911

That seems to be a very thorough explanation of how to use it, how to troubleshoot, and so on...
    hope it helps,

    compatibility wizard

Thanks for the advice we are trying with internet on(broadband).
I believe the problem is that there is a short cut to compatibility wizard, BUT the software is not there, at least we cannot find with our search programs. Maybe we need to find a place where were can obtain a copy od compatibility wizard.
Yes I think it is on the original CD which has been misplaced.
