    useful straight away...........
    First su to root

    edit or create /etc/apt/sources.list

    # See sources.list(5) for more information, especially
    # Remember that you can only use http, ftp or file URIs
    # CDROMs are managed through the apt-cdrom tool.
deb http://ftp2.de.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free
    deb http://ftp2.de.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/non-US main contrib non-free

    now get burner working properly..........

    apt-get update
    apt-get install k3b

there are some additional packages mentioned in the package apt-get them as well if you like.
Add K3b to the menu via Launch - Applications - System - Menu Editor (its in /usr/bin).

Fonts are a bit crap so.........

    apt-get install msttcorefonts

    - Keep apt-getting til you are happy (or break it).
I'm using Windows 7 - you got a problem with that?

I couldn't get this to work...

    Building Dependency Tree... Done
Package msttcorefonts is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package msttcorefonts has no installation candidate

and you are correct THE FONTS ARE CRAP!!

For those less command prompt oriented, with Xandros you no longer have to use the command prompt. They have an apt-get frontend gui.. called Xandros Network.

You can just add those deb's curio listed to the Xandros Network app. And it will work fine.

Nice tips curio. The fonts are crap.

Open a command prompt, su to root. Enter your password.

Then use the following command tables to enter the information you'd like to setup:

I'm sorry...still st00pid. Would that be from the "run command"? and "su to root"?

    I'm really new here...

take a look at the screenshots. It should make this a bit easier. I know, the first time I did it I was like wtf???

The first shows how to get to the console in Xandros. The second shows the steps for switching to the root user.

Not nit picking, just a suggestion for running the su command, always run it using the full path (/bin/su) this way you won't unintentionally run a trojaned su command. Just my 2 cents.

    launch>applications>system>admin tools>admin console

    Saves typing 'su'
I'm using Windows 7 - you got a problem with that?
