My MS Word 2002 is acting up. Need Help

When I long ago went Format > Font and set the font for Comic Sans MS, Size 12 everything was fine. It was size 12 on the monitor and printed size 12 when I printed stuff out. I have always used the print layout mode.

If I try Normal View, Web Layout View or Outline View, EVERYTHING works normally. But I would like to get the print layout view back and working because it provides for setting margins AND remembers them when started up--or at least it used to

But tonight, it began without any deliberate font type and size changing on my part, it began to print size 14 on my monitor and the printout came out as a size 10. Again in the print layout view. This is unacceptable!!

Also, for 3-4 months now when I boot Word has, at its whim, placed the cursor at the very top left of the page on the monitor OR about an inch down still on the left. If it was at the way top left, I could hit ENTER 4-5 times to get it to where it always used to be routinely on boot. I could live with that.

Also I could sometimes get the cursor in the correct place by clicking View > Header and Footer and then closing the pop-up tool or option barthat appeared. But only sometimes.

So tonight I reinstalled Word over itself. That made no difference. So I uninstalled , restarted and reinstalled Word. No problem in that process, but it did not correct the problem.

Discouraging! Do I have any recourse other than using one of the other modes or reformatting my HD? I don't WANT to do either!!!!!!!!!!!
I've created my own website...a collection of moving, sad and happy and humorous poems which I would like to share with others. They come from stories my dad used to tell me when I was a kid. If you could glance at my site and if you know of others who might enjoy it and perhaps tell them of it, I would be most appreciative. Thank you. You could create an "AutoExec macro" to set everything back to default values.

Thanks Reverend...Didn't have to do that after all. This morning (day after I wrote my question) Word was working normally. did nothing to change things. All I did was reboot when I got up. GO FIGURE.
