Windows cannot load the file [vmouse.vxd]

The mouse icon does not appear and it says -

'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the file [vmouse.vxd] that loads the drivers for the device [code 8.] To fix this problem, run Windows Setup again using your Windows CD-ROM.' in Device Manager.

Is there a way to solve this problem without reinstalling the OS? I DLed the file from driverguide and I will replace the file and I hope tha works.

I will try what this article says on the system.ini file and post back.

You can drag a copy of system.ini out of the sysbckp folder rbxxx cab files. These are created by the Scanreg /auto which runs at start up on 9x systems and should cover the last 5 days.
I'm using Windows 7 - you got a problem with that?

Thanks. I already started the install process though.
