I started with a picture of a woods near my house and just added some effects until it was eye pleasing to me. Kind of a glass ball with rain drops on the outside. You know how it is, we beginners have a hard time coming up with ideas......... Got any?

WOW! Tinker, that looks incredible. It reminds me of a, macro photograph, leaf with a dew/water drop and a reflection of the woods in it.

WE??? No, no no, we are nto beginners. You might be a beginner, but I am not even in the beginning
Actually I think it is pretty good. I wonder for a while what it was, but you work around with it, until I couldn't recognize it.
Now, in my personal taste I like vivid colors, and preferable darker. So I woule add some blue, which represents water, and maybe some green, unless you are preparing your desktop for fall, of course
But then, this is my personal taste, and I think I am bad in designing (and I am sleepy right now)

Well, I might be bad designing, but I can still judge what I like acording to my personall preferences.
As I saied, I like darker colors but deep and with passion, like blue, green, red, and such, so must of my choices are around there. So I liked pretty much Lynchknot theme with the dragon.
That I cannot create, doesn't mean that I cannot critize
Just giving an opinion, and as an opinion it is not that important exept that the receptor agrees.

Dehcbad25, if you know what you like then that's what is important - you are the main one looking at your desktop - remember, beauty is in the eye........... you like "darker colors but deep and with passion, like blue, green, red, and such" How about these - if you like, I will post the wallpaper.

    Hello Benjy, welcome to Techzonez!

I recommend a shareware program called IconPackager from Stardock http://stardock.com
A great freeware alternative is IconPhile http://www.virtualplastic.net/scrow/index.html

    Or E-icons http://www.deepgls.com/eicons/main.htm

    Enjoy!
