Thanks Piaqt - I DL "Changeicondcx" looked at the "help" file and didn't understand any of it!Anyway I have not seen any good bitmaps for shell 32 replacements yet. I wonder why they don't compare to DT icons. They all look "crappy".

As soon as I clicked on "more properties" it ran my CPU up 100% and made my fan run at top speed. That scared me. The splash screen does not say for XP. Is it safe to run this program? - if it caused such a draw on my CPU

I've been using it. I use XP Pro. i just tried it, looking at cpu usage. It DOES go up to 100%, but as soon as I clicked "OK" on the error message, usage went back down to previous levels.
Basically, it's a registry hacker, with a wysiwig gui.

Tinker, when you reduced the size of your DT, it was hard to make out your icons.

No not really, I use IconXP and it works great. There is a 30 day free trail and that is what I am using now.........

You know guys?? I keep reading this threath, and I keep a close eye on it, but I don't post much. That is because I don't actually customize my desktop very much. Instead I look at your desktops and if I like I integrate that change into mineI hope you guys don't get upset at me since you do all the work. I would be kind of the jury
(but don't trust much in my decision because I failed all graphic subjets in the university
