Are you going to purchase a retail copy or are you going to download it?

How much are you gonna pay for it? Make sure it is the Student Price that you get.

    Well mark

I need to ask you some questions:
    Why do you want it?
What will you use it for?
Do you have the funds to blow? near 500 bucks for the full suite
Can you live without a microsoft version???
If so, there are several freebies out there.
SUN microsystems have a great suite that is about to become not so freeware in MAY. But you can get version 5.2 for free. I use it all the time, though I have Office XP too.
    SUN OFFICE SUITE 5.2 FREE

there is another great free office suite that can replace Office XP if you don't want to shell out the bucks!

    http://www.thinkfree.com/
and yet another free office suite that is full compatible with Microsoft OFFICE applications!

    Again,
If you don't have the cheese to fork over for the full boat, get these alternatives, in my opinion they are just as good if not in some cases better, and they will save you some cold hard cash that you can apply for a hardware upgrade or a peripheral. Think new processor, more ram, scanner, printer etc....

In short Boogs is saying that its not worth the buy, cause it aint all that disimilar from the 2000 version if you like microsoft. And the ones he has suggested are a great alternative to office xp and are free
I run office xp full as well simply cause I got it at a steal, but I do run the SUN microsystems suite on my machine simply because its too good not to get for a free prog
