    Stand by missing

    Suddently the Stand by option is disappeared from my Shut Down windows combo-box
    I can see only Log off, Shut down and Restart.
    The stand by button also doesn't work.
    The system is an HP Compaq notebook nc6120 with WinXP+SP2.

    My battery is not very happy...

    Control Panel > Power Options. On the APM tab make sure "Enable Advanced Power Management Support" is checked.

    Or

    Reinstall the chipset drivers and/or video drivers then reboot.

    And make sure all the power management options are enabled in the bios.

    Ehm... I've forgotten this thread

    All the power management options were ok for me,
    so I reinstalled the chipset driver and the Stand by option magically reappeared after rebooting.
