    Disk Boot Failure

"Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter."

I re-boot it again and press F8 and use the last known good configuration
and it boots to windows fine.
Shut it down again and rebooted with the same disk boot failure but this
time when I re-booted with the F8 key, it would not work, nothing!
Then I tried a floppy drive boot disk and it won't work with the following
    error
"win could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration
problem. Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk
    hardware."
To make matters more confusing I booted it this morning and it booted to
    windows just fine.
Now I hate to shut it down. Are the floppy and hd controllers on the same
board and is causing this problem?
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Bud Z

Most likely a bad HDD. I wouldnt mess with it anymore because it would only make the problem worse. Replace HDD, and put it as secondary and backup.

I have to agree it sounds like a Bad HDD, But it could also be the operating system my have became unstable. I would run a scan disk on the HDD to scan for bad blocks.
