Not impressed with IE7

I downloaded and installed it one PC (I have two) and I won't be installing it on my second. From a users point of view with little technical knowledge, I found it in comparison to IE6, bloated, slower and with too many add ons (gadgets). The anti-phising thing is already starting to annoy me.

The browsing in tabs is Ok though.

Having said all that, given that I use Firefox, 90% of the time anyway, I can safely ignore IE7 from this point on.

I agree on most points. The anti-phishing tool can be disabled, in fact it gives you three options, enable, disable, or ask again later. I think it's good they are trying to change Internet Explorer and improve upon it.

However, they should model their browser after firefox, that gives users the ability to add gadgets that appeal to the individual user. Forcing these gadgets is not the way to win over those that use the browser.

The tabbed browsing should have been in IE5... it's been a standard in firefox and phoenix for quite some time.

As for it being slower, I don't really see that much of a difference. But perhaps that's because I seldom use IE...

I agree with all the above although since i am a main IE user i quite like it reguardless of flaws.Since i don't use any extensions and only upgraded for tabbed browsing it's perfect for me.

As for it being slower i havent seen any slow down.It loads just as fast as IE6 did for me.Actually FF seems to load both the browser itself and webpages slower then IE for me.I have used both 1.5 and 2.0 beta same results.Everyone tells me how fast FF is but i dont see it.

YES it does. spent the last week removing IE7 and going back to 6. Its not compatible with a few of my companies web apps. what I dont like is how the little bastards sneak it in with auto update without asking.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

1. Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
2. Click "Add or Remove Programs."
3. Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
4. Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove." (If you are running Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview — March 20 or later, it is not necessary to check "Show Updates.")

IMHO, IE7 should *still* be considered beta in my book. I have visited several sites to download files. The yellow bar drops down "blocking" the download, but it is followed shortly with the "Save" dialog. I love the interface, but it is still very buggy.
