Internet Explorer 7 Has Made My System Unstable

Hello all.

I recently visited the Microsoft site and click for "updates".

it told me to update Internet Explorer 7 - which I did.

Now my syustem is unstalbe. If I open IE and Outllok Express but don't use them for awhile - they are locked up. I can't use them or close them down.

Wish I had never updated.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I might correct this.
