If you choose TOOLS / TOOLBARS / CUSTOMIZE, then look on the left side. You should see the MAIL icon. Highlight it, and then ADD it to the right hand side. After you close, you should then see the MAIL icon up the top, and then you can just left click on it to open OE and view your mail.
