Not without a kiss... or maybe dinner.

I'll bet there isn't much air for the intakes from that position.

it looks like they were video recording something from that back-ramp... is that the UK tornado? or perhaps Eurofighter? It is pretty close though, i thought there would have been more jetwash/turbulence, even when doing inflight refuelling they (jets) dont get that close!

Would have been a great sight standing on the edge, seemingly you could reach out and touch the tip of the fighter nose!

How high and speed were your jumps Petard?

yeah thats the Eurofighter Typhoon, but that last pic looks fake to me. have you ever been near a jet engine at idle. even then you have to be careful not to get anything close enough to get sucked in to the engine, so at flight speed you can imagine the suction generated. if the plane got that close to the "Herk" the camera operators and all their gear would be shredded to pieces and the RAF would be out around £50mil(45 for the plane and 5 for the pilot)

BTW petard......what did Sgt. Airborne think of your PLF?

@gigabrain: That was many, many years ago. I got my jumpwings and was reassigned to a leg unit.

Welcome to TZ by the way.

I spoke with a few navy pilots ("aviators" - oh please...) and they say stunts like what we see in the pictures happen all the time. It's hard to say but they've told me some stories that would make me believe the pictures posted above.

Many thanks to egghead for the cool .sig
