We have a winner! I installed Webroot Desktop Firewall and so far no glitches and it's not hard to configure! It's free too, but you have to register to get the serial (much like Avast).

Comodo free firewall for Vista is out! I'm trying it out now and all seems well. I loved this firewall when I was using it with XP!
