outlook express has stopped send email

i've had my hotmail accounts configured for years in my outlook express. for some reason, within the last week, it has completely stopped sending out my mail. my mail can be received and read fine, it just won't send any. the message just sits there in the outbox forever. nothing on my computer has changed recently so does anyone know whay this is happening? does this have something to do with them changing hotmail over to windows live? i have not installed that software or made that change by the way. heres the error. btw i am using outlook express 6.

The server does not support the required HTTP methods. Account: 'aquaholic_', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Method Not Allowed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 998, Error Number: 0x800CCC35

i do not have have multiple Hotmail e-mail accounts that are assigned to a single e-mail identity. they are totally separate identities in Outlook Express. that solution also states that it applies to Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0. i am running 6.0.
