What's a simple CD writer for Vista?
Hi
I want to put Data on a CD.
Most CD/DVD writers don't work on Vista.

Obviously depending on what you want to do with the writer - i think the built-in Explorer writer should be good enough for DATA, and then Windows DVD Authoring tool should be good for MOVIES, while Media Player should be ok for the MUSIC....
I heard the latest versions of Nero aren't particularly good.

Are you talking about writing software or the hardware?

Conan, Writing software.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cash_site, I tried writing a CD with Windows Vista. The software seemed to get stuck. It interfered with me using a 3rd party CD writer. I tried Burn4Free . It made a coaster. I tried another. It did not work with Vista. I think it was
CDBurnerXP pro.
Thank you all for replying.

Did the burner come with the computer? If so, what software came with it for burning?

Hi Veronica,
i would probably try to uninstall all CD writing software from Add/Remove Programs...
then try to enable/fix the default Vista CD writing function...
Then, we can search around for a good quality Authoring software with more features.
Try that, let me know
