By far the easiest solution would be to buy a drive enclosure and connect it to the notebook via usb.

Hey guys,
Not sure if this is possible but i was wondering if there are any adapters out there to convert a 2.5" IDE HDD to SATA for use in a laptop that only supports SATA?Tryed to do a general search with no results so any info would be great.

hey EFC,
Yes i thought about just getting a SATA but the reason i was asking was i just purchased a 250GB IDE 2.5" for a laptop but am thinking about getting another laptop i saw for sale. This one only uses SATA but supports Dual HDD's so i was thinking with the proper adapter i could add it in.I checked out the links you posted but will those work for Laptop? They look more suited to desktops.
Room is going to be the biggest problem when you are dealing with a notebook. There are a number of interface options but they all require additional space. Here other ideas -

Sorry, after taking a closer look, I see that these options need a ide connection on the MB. You need to go the other way.
