    Introduction

Hi, I am a newly retired teacher, [all the sciences]. Oh, yeah. I was also the computer technology contact for my school, we ctcs helped put out the small fires in regard to computers. Simple things like sir did you plug it in? Incidentally, let me know if anyone can figure why windows defrag is being disabled on so many computers.

Can't answer your question concerning Windows defrag, however there is an alternative. Consider the highly rated freeware defrag software "Auslogic Disk Defrag currently in version 1.4.16.308. It is much faster than Windows defrag. Find it here. Link

    win defrag vs. auslogistics defrag

Granted I would liked to have tried theirs, since win defrag could not start, but it doesn't work either. I found quite a few suggestions on what to do about it but none of it worked. The moderator for auslogistics and I discussed through e-mail and he said he'd heard quite a few people were showing up with this problem. He wondered if it were related in some way to service pack two for xp.
