Thanks for moving my post. I didn't know if the problem was more XP or more Office.
Anyway I have done step 3 and am trying another install. It takes about an hour
.
The reason I didn't try step 1 and 2 is ..... how do I locate the subkey within reg editor?
Sorry , not that software savvy......
Did I say that when the error occurs clicking cancel, or skip makes the installer back out the software?
If it makes any difference its the Student version of Office downloaded from the MS Site.
The OH works at Leicester Uni and gets those "Ultimate Steal" deals. Office 2007 for 38 quid? Couldn't resist !
