Can't Delete OE Error Message [FIXED]
I am a fairly new user of Outlook Express and having a problem.
I tried to forward a message to a friend and made a typo in his address. Of course the message bounced and I keep getting the following error message every time I login to OE:
"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'bill [email protected]'. Subject: 'Fw: 1940 Dodge', Account: 'mail.aol.com' Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '501 5.1.3 Bad recipient address syntax', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"
I have no idea what any of this means and my problem is I cannot get rid of the message. It appears and reappears every time I access Outlook Express.
Does anyone have an idea that will allow me to permanently get rid of this error message?
Thanks for your help.
Richard

What is probably happening is that every time you start OE it immediately tries to resend the mail.
Open OE and go to Tools > Options. On the General Tab uncheck "Send and receive messages at startup" then click Apply. Restart OE.
Or if you prefer to keep that setting checked, close the error message and then delete the mail from your Outbox.

Thank you Reverend. That is exactly the information I was looking for. Just don't know why I could not figure that out myself; it seems so elementary now.
