Wireless Network

Here at my firehouse we have a wireless netowrk for the laptops in our engines. All connect to the designated network just fine (except one) and it has the same settings as the other laptops using Windows XP

What is happening is this.... I keep getting a pop up bubble stating...
"Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network”
The affected computer has internet access and is able to access other computers ont he network but other computers cannot access into that computer.

The laptop's network settings are using WPA2-PSK with an AES Encryption
and like I said it has the same exact settings as the other computers not receiving this error message

Networking issues sometime send me screaming into the night. Luckily my house is located well away from neighbors so the only person that I disturb is my wife. If you look hard enough there is a benefit to every problem. I guess that is mine.

Thanks I saw that article also but when I go into Authentication that area is all grayed out and unable to make any changes to it

Which os is on the notebook?

Is that laptop running SP3? If not, install it on that machine.

SP3 includes updates for WPA2 and adds support for Wi-Fi certifications.

Not sure if this is still ongoing, but.....

I recently exactly the same problem with a friends laptop running XP and yet all other laptops I tried at his house running XP connected just fine. Again all the settings were the same.

In this case the wireless router was a linksys model and it was a Dell laptop. It turned out that the problem lay in an incompatibility between the laptop's wireless card and the wireless router. Simply updating the firmware on the wireless router resolved the issue immediately.
