Samsung Tips Next-Gen Galaxy Note at Sept. 4 Event
Samsung is prepping to unpack its newest device at a Sept. 4 event in Berlin. The handwritten design of an invitation sent out to media suggests the likely debut of the Galaxy Note III, expected to launch this fall.
Samsung further confirmed suspicions with the "Note the date" message on the invitation. What's more, the event comes just before the annual IFA consumer electronics show, where the tech giant last year premiered the Galaxy Note II phablet.
While final details about the next-gen device have not been revealed, rumors about its specs have been circulating. As TechCrunch pointed out, some reports have tipped a 6.3-inch screen, while others said there will be four different iterations with varying screen sizes.
The first of this year's Samsung Unpacked events was held in mid-March, when the company launched its 5-inch Galaxy S 4 smartphone in New York City.
The current Galaxy Note II sports a 5.5-inch, 1,280-by-720-pixel display, with a 1.6GHz, quad-core Exynos processor optimized for LTE networks, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD card for expandable storage up to 64GB.
