I think my admin permissions are jacked up.

I started out with a problem where there are no longer any NAS drives or family computers listed under my NETWORK in Explorer. Now it seems that I have lost the ability to set any folder or file sharing on this computer. Even my ability to change the computer name is grayed out. I'm still the admin and I've already switched the SMB 1 back and forth with no luck. The only thing that's changed is the recent Windows 10 updates. The computer's apps were finding all drives and folders just fine before I went out of town for four weeks.

A couple of options to try.

    1. Go to Start>Run and type services.msc and hit enter. Scroll down and see if Net Logon and Workstations services are started. If not set them both to Automatic Startup.
    Restart start the PC.

    2. Boot to Safe Mode and use the default "Administrator" account to change the computer name. It's located in the registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ComputerName\ComputerName
