Instagram is rolling out pinned comments everywhere. Following a successful trial this spring, the social media firm this week announced global access to the feature.

"That means you can pin a few comments to the top of your feed post and better manage the conversation," Instagram said in a Tuesday tweet, encouraging users to choose up to three of their favorite comments to highlight.

Simply swipe left on any remark (just as you would when replying, reporting, or deleting) to pin it to the top of the discussion—be it a clever observation, an intriguing question, or self-serving praise. The author is automatically notified and their comment marked with a "pinned" icon.

Instagram in May unveiled new features to help fight online bullying—including the ability to bulk delete negative comments and block or restrict the accounts posting them. "In addition to removing negative comments, we want to give people an easy way to amplify and encourage positive interactions," the social network said, teasing pinned comments. The feature, according to Instagram, gives folks "a way to set the tone for their account and engage with their community" by tacking high-quality replies to the top of the thread.
