Resident Evil Village is set to release on May 7, but the week before on May 1, Capcom is going to let us play an hour of the final game.

The playable demo will only be available for 24 hours and includes both the village and castle areas. It's up to the player how much time they spend in each area. However, total play time will be limited to just 60 minutes. You can select "Continue" in the demo as many times as you like as long as you are still within your allotted 60 minutes, and anyone who manages to finish the demo can replay it within the same time limit.

There's no platform restrictions and the demo will be available to play on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Stadia. In the US, the 24-hour period for playing begins at 8pm ET on May 1 and finishes at 8pm ET on May 2. PlayStation gamers are getting something a little extra, though.

PS4 and PS5 owners can take advantage of an "8 Hours in Village" promotion, which offers early access 30 minute demos for the village and castle. It's the same deal as the 60 minute demo limit, but split in half for each area. Importantly, this is in addition to the 60 minute demo and available earlier, too. The village demo will be available from 8pm ET on April 17 to 8pm ET on April 18. The castle demo will be available from 8pm ET on April 24 to 8pm ET on April 25.

So if you own a PlayStation, you can get two hours of demo time starting April 17, where as Xbox, Steam, and Stadia gamers can enjoy an hour on May 1. In both cases, it should be enough time to decide if you're going to purchase the game on May 7.
