Sony has announced a range of PS5 console covers in five different colours. These covers replace the white face plates on the current PlayStation 5 console, allowing you to reshade your console in red, purple, black, blue, or pink.

As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the covers will be available in the first half of 2022, starting with Midnight Black and Cosmic Red in January 2022. Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue colours will arrive in the following months. Two different versions of each colour will be available, with one to fit the PS5 Digital Edition and another to fit the PS5 with disc drive.

The console covers are available to pre-order direct from Sony, priced at $54.99.

Additionally, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple DualSense controllers will be released in January 2022. These will join the already released Cosmic Red and Midnight Black controllers.

The covers will be available in the following regions: USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. Sony states that additional territories will be added during the year, and that exact release dates will vary by region.

These official console covers follow the recent legal mess between Sony and Dbrand, a company who makes its own third-party PS5 faceplates. Sony also recently patented the PS5 faceplates, which perhaps was the first sign that these colour options were coming soon.
