repaired Office and now have Excel prob

My problem with Spell Checker in Outlook is fixed after restoring and repairing from the CD. Now I have a new problem. My spreadsheet in Excel won't let me access fonts. I tried to un-bold an entry and excel shut down (after sending an error report to MS). When I clicked on Format, Font tab, the same thing happened. any ideas? Kathy

Can you re-create the problem and let us know what the error message says.

In Word as well as in Excel, any access to a font causes the " MS Word (or MS Excel) has encountered a problem and must close" message to appear. In both cases UNIDRV.DLL is mentioned in the details.

In Excel I can type info into a cell but if I try to change the font, the error occurs. In Word when a blank document opens, the error occurs.

    Help?

    Kathy

    just somethings i've found

Make sure a default printer is assigned. If there is none, assign one. Make sure that it is a printer and not a fax driver. Also verify that UNIDRV.DLL exists in the C:\Windows\System folder.

When I, too, discovered that unidrv.dll relates to printer, I decided to see if I needed to update my printer driver anyway. I did so I now have a working font. thanks for helping.
