Windows 2003 Server 180 day Trial Downloads

    32 bit version

    64 bit version

These are free from MS. They have a 180 day expiration, but after 180 days, it might be time to do a reformat, and reinstall for another 180 days kidding.

It's worth the download even if you are just curious about the software and want to try it out.

So you are asking where do I get the key?

    Order your free kit:

    https://microsoft.order-5.com/window...t_id=099-91708

And they'll email you the key!
    Enjoy

    UPDATE:

At the time of the above posting, the files were freely downloadable. Thus the links I provided. Now Microsoft has changed their policy and they now make you register to download them, even though the trials are still free.. you must now register:

View: Register for the Server 2003 Trial Downloads

Download a pre-configured version of Windows Server 2003 R2 in a VHD for evaluation
You can now get a free 30-day trial version of Windows Sever 2003 R2 pre-installed and pre-configured in a VHD. Click here to access the VHD catalog with the Windows Server evaluation VHD.
The VHDs in the catalog is currently available in English only.

Glad to help Piper. This release is absolutely free and works just as good as any other release, even the RTMs. Just has a 180 day timebomb

but if after 180 days you can always reinstall and try it again

    hehehe

    BB,
Good ot see your posts here. I know Windows server has a time bomb and recently I came across the msfn.org site which has a tool to remove the time bomb. I dont know how effective it really is in removing the time bomb. Only time can say. The tool is called Tweaknt.exe.

Do you know how to change the existing key to a different product key after its been activated with an initial key?

    Thanks and regards
    Hans

I can imagine that the windows server 2003 key change is the same as the XP. Not sure as I've never had to do it. MSFN have a great guide setup for windows server 2003. Very thorough and well organized.

    And welcome to TZ.

Give it a shot and let me know. I'm actually curious about this. It may help if in a corporate environment, you found that your key was pirated and want to change it without reinstalling. Amazing.

I think the XP method will work because they both use the same product key activation scheme.

    BB,
I did try to change the Product key of W2k3 server and since Ihad already activated it with the eval Key, it wouldnt let me break the evaluation by changing atleast one number is oobetimer.
Even after changing the number and bringing up the activation window, I see the message which tells that the machine is already activated.
I dont know any other way of breaking the previous activation to enter another Product Key.

    Regards
    Hans

    Question

    Hi,
I had a trial license for 2003 Server on a test server and went on holiday, came back to find that it had expired (clever, not). Now I can only watch the machine restart itself after the friendly "go buy a copy" message and have no option to uninstall and go back to the NT Server I had before.

Does anybody know a simple way to uninstall the expired trial and get back to the previous OS - without the ultimate "simple" approach of doing a reformat??

Any ideas would be appreciated.... Putting the trial CD (self-burned from ISO image) into the CD drive and booting has no effect so I assume there is no simple "uninstall" option...

I'm not looking for a crack, just help.

    TIA,
    Robert
