    Cash,

'Apply [the patch] only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this fix.
So Don't install it unless you have hibernation problems

    thanks dehc,

Before I reformatted last time, I did have Hibernation problems, but then I formated and SP1 with other fixes, and now no problems. Its actually a good feature, although it almost takes the same amount of time to boot ?? Go figure.

Have to disagree with you there cash_site, on my P3 800, starting up from hibernation takes around half the time than if I was cold booting.

Shutdown is a heap quicker too!

Q330909 is for Windows XP-based computers not hibernating when they have 1Gig or more of RAM or when running multiple processes that create a high-stress condition.

Doesn't affect my machine but I'll give it a go on the Athlon.

LOL, but my duron800 has always been faster :P

Just kidding. But I do agree that hibernation is good. Will see when I upgrade if there are problems.
