Thanks BB but does not work for me - all it does is "not respond" for me.
*edit - ok got it working but it still uses massive amounts of CPU to the point of freezing my desktop momentarily

It seemed to work better than the previous version for me.
Are you removing the existing version first or installing over the top?
I think I installed over it but it has a different name (PeerGuardian_1.99b_pr4) so does it still overwrite the original?
If you have the newer version # then I would think it was over written. I think I'll uninstall first.
This version does not seem to install. It just opens a folder with files that you move to wherever you want. I uninstalled the old one and reopened a new folder and this one is working well.
I'm wondering what these rejected connections are about: "fake files"?
Connection Rejected: 209.225.0.6 - fake files and p2p bots (cable and wireless server)- (09-13-2003 @ 08:30:45)
Connection Rejected: 194.67.35.196 - Spylog (09-13-2003 @ 09:24:54)
maybe their IP has been found to spread Fake files all over the P2P scene???
I have no idea actually.

I've had this new version installed for about a week or so but lately it has been maxing out my CPU and slowing everything down!!Originally posted by lynchknot

Whats up with that?
I am getting the same thing now.
sup kats,
load the ip list into your firewalls, that will help you till they get peerguardian fixed.
its something with the api calls that is useing all the cpu.
try to get outpost v1 with blockpost, sygate and one of the other firewalls.
come to http://www.peerguardian.net and you can access the converter that will make the peerguardian database a database that your firewall will read and block ips with.
also on sygate bluetack adjusted his converter to make the list in sections of 400 so that the rules will work better.
peerguardian it self is being worked on and we will make it better, but for now if you are haveing cpu problems load the list in your firewalls.
and one last note,i usually update the list a few times a day so just look at the bottom of the list to see what has been updated.
see ya
Converter link here http://www.bluetack.co.uk/convert.html

also it is here preloaded with the peerguardian database, but you have to be a registered member to use it (sorry i don''t make the rules)

i downloade a software from emule and burned it with speedycd and a backpack recorder but i couldn't get it open what do i need to do different
Whoa, slow down. First this may not be the right spot for this question - Rev wont be happy.Originally Posted by doug25
Secondly, are you having troubles with Peer Guardian that you downloaded from emule? or some other warez?
We try not to talk about warez at TZ, from fear of the BAT.
