    DiskCleanup old compressed files ?

    In XP disk cleanup I have a bunch of old compressed files, what are they & are they safe to get rid of ?

    Disc Cleanup can compress files that are not used that frequently,and this can save disc space.

    So to answer your question,no don't delete them.
    Although you may not access them that often,they are still needed,either by the system or by a program.

    Compress old files is a good thing? Should I do it? Because it says that I can save almost 300,000k

    I was asking because a long time ago, I asked an MSN "tech" (lol) about the checkmarks under properties: "Compress drive to save disk space" and "alllow indexing......" - he said to never check those.
