Windows xp pro- display settings
one software program requires an 8bit 256 colors display in order to work.
my laptop only goes to 16 bit in the display- control panel.
any workarounds suggested ???
thanks

Can't it be run in Compatibility Mode and set to 256 colours with themes off etc..?
Right click on the EXE, choose properties and enable Compatability mode, checking all the boxes.

bingo!!! you were absolutely correct. it worked!!! thanks
the unfortunate part (bongo!!! ) is that when i start up the program- it notices the programs is not installed on the CD. so sigh, i do not have access to a CD rw so... that is the way it is.
but life goes on- ever so nicely.
