Powerpoint autorun for a nOOb
This may be 'real' basic but can someone please help me out with getting a powerpoint presentation to autorun when you put the CD in....
I've tried PPPCD - I followed the instructions (obviously not well enough) and burnt a few CD's to no avail....
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!
cheers

Give this a go: http://www.ashzfall.com/products/autorun/
As you get better, you should be able to create autorun.inf files manually without the aid of this app

Me again...Ok, I know this is probably painfully easy for you...but I could do with some more help!
I've got a .ppt file that I need to autorun...again, I followed the instructions for the autorun program from the above site and I'm getting nowt. Not sure how many CD's I'll need to get through to complete this task...but then again, I'm still learning!!!
ANY help would be REAL good - as I've got to get this done by tommorrow!
Thanks again,
dt
ps - does the autorun file have to be .exe ?!

The autorun file should be named autorun.inf and it must contain the name of the powerpoint file you want to autorun.
e.g
[autorun]
open=filename.ppt
you can make your own autorun files by using notepad and when you save the file select "All Files" from the "Save as type" dropdown menu. And call it autorun.inf

Thanks again...I've done that...the autorun.inf file is only 1kb and the presentation is 3,806kb....is that sufficient now to burn onto a CD?!
cheers,
dt
Ps - I'm using Easy CD creator 4 - when I put the files into get burned is it the autorun.inf and the .ppt file?!
sorry to be a pain...ta

Yep that should work. Just make sure you have typed the correct filename after the open= command.Burn both files as a data disc.
Also right click the CD Drive icon in my computer, and on the autoplay tab enable Prompt me each time to choose an action (if it isn't already enabled),and click apply.

Ok, a smallish Eureka! I've downloaded PPPCD and it opens up powerpoint with the first slide...It doesn't play the whole show, but I'm sure the recipient will be able to hit 'slideshow'!!!
Thanks for your help rev,

Save the .ppt file as .pps if you want the whole presentation to be shown.
