A little about that service:
csrss - csrss.exe - Process Information
Process File: csrss or csrss.exe
Process Name: Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem
Description: The Windows Client Server Runtime Subsystem handles Windows and Graphics Functions for all Subsystems
Common Errors: N/A
System Process: Yes
Csrss.exe
You cannot end this process from Task Manager. This is the user-mode
portion of the Win32 subsystem (with Win32.sys being the kernel-mode
portion). Csrss stands for client/server run-time subsystem and is an
essential subsystem that must be running at all times. Csrss is
responsible for console windows, creating and/or deleting threads, and
some parts of the 16-bit virtual MS-DOS environment.
SCAN FOR VIRII.. doing a little searching it would appear that a virus could be the culprit..
Try shutting off the IIS 6 and see if it goes back to normal. If so you may not be able to use IIS 6 on that particular machine with that OS.
Are you running this server on a single chip unit or is this a multi-chip server?
It is quite possible you'd need to upgrade to run the IIS 6 on the server and maintain usability of the OS at the same time.. not 100% sure and it depends on the server load I guess.
At the very least consider a chip upgrade with hyperthreading capabilities.
