rik- It is the Product Key that is visible with Belarc Advisor. That key will now allow you to re-install WinXP should your HD become corrupted and you have misplaced the CD Key.

ok, efc, then I am confused on the issue. The 25 character key is what is needed upon initial install or reinstall of the software. Typically 5 groups of 5 characters in the instance of MS software. Is this correct?

rik-Thanks for being persistent. I was using Belarc Advisor 5.1g. The latest version is 5.1k which as you pointed out does provide the CD installation key.

I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be an Ahole about it but I was pretty darn sure of what I was seeing...I didn't even think about it being a different version.

Nice little program Rev, i like its simplicity, but it does it 100%

I will also try out Belarc advisor, a rich set of features.
