I will start by saying that I use IE only when it is absolutely necessary. In other words, there are a few sites that will not provide desired results when using Mozilla or Firebird (my browsers of choice). Luckily it is a very small number.
I have done some research. The most logical suggestions came from annoyancies.org. Two post are provided below:
1. "I had this problem. I followed the windows error report and it told me it was a problem with McAffee. I uninstalled it and it works fine now."
2. "How to Disable Internet Explorer Error Reporting
Internet Explorer 6 for Windows XP
Click Start, and then click Control Panel (or point to Settings, and then click Control
Panel). Double-click System (or click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click
System). Click the Advanced tab, and then click Error Reporting.
Click Disable error reporting to disable both user and kernel-mode error reporting,
or click to clear the Programs check box. Click OK, and then click OK."
