Realtek seems to be a solid card, cheap, and normally supported by the OS without additional drivers.
I like the D-link cards. I prefer to keep the network cards the same as the router.
I would recommend going with a name brand card even if it costs a little bit more. They are more reliable and have better support than the no-name brands.
Anyone know of issues with any of the ones mentioned not working
with the earlier Win98 ?
Belkin is pretty good but as I mentioned it only works with the Win98SE
None that I know of...naturally if the OS doesn't support it natively you'll have to have the correct driver set.
This is one of those items, that I will buy the cheapest one available. I have purchased and installed a couple dozen the last couple years and have never experienced a problem. The most common brand I find at cheap prices is Asound.
Others may have had different results. If so, I would be interested to hear.
Linux Mint Debian Edition
Ive used the Realtek card under a few different O/S never had any problems with drivers or support
