Had a look at all the time settings, and everything appears ok. Although i noticed i had US time settings & not UK, so thanks for that one ;-)
Been testing different things and still can't come up with much appart from now i know that there is only a problem when specifying the proxy server to the same as my gateway, although if i specify an outside proxy instead it seems to work fine. :-S
